Dr. Leslie Havard

Dr. Havard joined the Denver Skin Clinic in 2000 after completing a dermatology residency and immunodermatology fellowship at the University of Colorado.

Originally from New Zealand, she is a medical graduate of the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.  Prior to medical school Dr. Havard trained as a Physical Education teacher, but elected to teach skiing both in Colorado and New Zealand and achieved full certification as a professional ski instructor.

As a board certified dermatologist, Dr. Havard enjoys practicing medical and surgical dermatology and seeing patients of all ages. Spare time activities revolve around a love of the outdoors, skiing, camping and hiking with llamas in the Colorado backcountry.  Enjoying good food and wine is a passion shared with her husband and friends.

Dr. Peggy B. Liao

Dr. Peggy Liao joined the Denver Skin Clinic in 2010. She completed a dermatology residency at the University of Michigan after attending medical school at Duke University, and graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in Biochemistry at the University of Michigan. She is a volunteer Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Colorado, and also volunteers at the Stout Street Clinic providing dermatology care for the underprivileged.

Dr. Liao is a board certified dermatologist and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. In her spare time, she likes to travel, read, root for her favorite college teams (Go Blue, Go Duke & Go Irish!) and partake in the many great outdoor activities in Colorado, including hiking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cruiser bike riding and camping.

Dr. Hunter H. Sams

Dr. Sams earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy and sociology from Duke University, medical degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, and Dermatology residency and fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Vanderbilt University. As a Board Certified Dermatologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, he has practiced in Denver since 2005. He is Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Colorado HSC and staff physician at VAMC East Colorado Region. Dr. Sams practices general dermatology with advanced dermatologic surgery expertise. In his free time, Dr. Sams enjoys biking, music and his children.

Teresa is a Colorado native, she has over 6 years of experience as an Aesthetician/ Laser Specialist. She is a Colorado native, but worked in Chicago for the past six years. She worked for a plastic surgeon over the years, and has always loved making people feel great about themselves and their skin. She has received advanced training and certifications on the latest laser and skin innovations in the industry.

Teresa became interested in the art and science of skin care at a young age. As a teen, she dealt with her own skin issues and started acquiring knowledge on how to care for her skin with the help of skin care experts. The positive results and increased self-confidence she experienced inspired her to pursue a career in esthetics. Teresa combines a wide-ranging knowledge of skin care treatments and products with exceptional attention to detail and a very strong work ethic. She provides a warm, personalized, but clinical approach with her clients that yields amazing and lasting results.


Cyndi Garcia

Cyndi is a nationally Board-Certified Physician Assistant who specializes in aesthetic medicine. She graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at Midwestern University. She practiced in women’s health for several years until she decided to pursue her ultimate dream of working in Aesthetics.

She performs a multitude of procedures to address facial and body aging, and sun damage, to keep patients looking their best at every stage of life. Cyndi is highly trained in minimally invasive procedures including soft tissue fillers, neurotoxins and laser procedures. Her patients also come to her for minimally invasive, non-surgical fat reduction (Kybella - chin contouring), Coolsculpting, non-invasive, face and neck lifts, (Ultherapy) and skin care. She also believes in staying current in aesthetic medicine, so she is always learning about new techniques and technology by attending lectures, seminars and conferences.

Cyndi is enthusiastic about her role at Cara Mia Medical Day Spa and Denver Skin Clinic! It is her goal to help patients discover the treatment options in Aesthetic Medicine to address his or her unique concerns. She strives to connect with her patients to restore their self- confidence and help them feel their best by providing specialized treatment plans based on their individual needs.

Patients appreciate her warm demeanor, compassion, keen eye and gentle touch. She combines meticulous technique and delicate artistry to provide each patient with personalized, natural results that reflect their own inner beauty.


Anya Kaczmarek, MPH, MS, PA-C

Anya Kaczmarek, MPH, MS, PA-C was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Naples, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University. An interest in epidemiology and public health led her to earn her Master of Public Health degree with honors from Boston University.

After graduate school, Ms. Kaczmarek worked at Harvard University Medical School on alternative medicine clinical trials. She continued participating on clinical trial research projects as a statistician at the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology. While there, Ms. Kaczmarek co-authored and published dermatologic research in various scientific journals including the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Her main research interests were on psoriasis, melanoma, skin cancer, acne, and aging skin. It was while working with patients afflicted with various dermatologic diseases that Ms. Kaczmarek decided to pursue a career as a physician assistant in dermatology.

In 2007 Ms. Kaczmarek received her Master of Science with honors in Physician Assistant studies from University of Detroit-Mercy. As a board-certified physician assistant with years of experience treating all aspects of dermatology including surgery, psoriasis, eczema, skin cancers, rashes, acne, and photoaging, Ms. Kaczmarek treats patients with the utmost care and concern. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants amd American Association of Physician Assistants.
